Convert Units of Digital Storage
Enter a size, choose the unit you have and the unit you need, and the result appears at once. The same size is also shown in every other unit, with a quick table — for disk and memory capacity, file sizes, cloud plans and internet speeds in megabits.
Decimal units grow by 1,000 (1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes), binary units by 1,024 (1 MiB = 1,048,576 bytes). That is why a "1 TB" drive shows as about 931 GiB in your operating system. Everything is calculated in your browser.
Why Use This Data Size Converter?
- Decimal (kB, MB, GB, TB, PB) and binary (KiB, MiB, GiB, TiB, PiB) units
- Bits for network speeds: kbit, Mbit, Gbit
- The size in all units at once, plus a quick conversion table
- Result as you type, with a swap button
How to Convert Data Size
- Type the size you want to convert
- Choose the units in the "From" and "To" lists

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this data size converter free?
Yes, it is completely free and has no limits.
Is a gigabyte 1,000 or 1,024 megabytes?
Both conventions exist. In the international standard a gigabyte (GB) is 1,000 MB, and 1,024 MiB make a gibibyte (GiB). Drive makers use GB, while Windows shows sizes in binary units but labels them "GB".
How do I turn internet speed in Mbit/s into MB/s?
Divide by 8, because a byte has 8 bits. A 100 Mbit/s connection downloads at most 12.5 MB per second; in practice slightly less.
Is any data sent to a server?
No. All conversions are calculated in your browser.
