What is a HEIC file?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container, also called HEIF) is the default photo format of iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It takes less space than JPG, but many devices and programs outside the Apple world can't open it.

What happens to transparent areas?

JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent parts of the image are filled with a background colour — white by default. You can choose any other colour in the advanced options.

Is my file kept private?

Files are transferred over an encrypted connection and processed on our server. Uploaded files and results are stored for 48 hours, so you can download the result via its link, and are then deleted automatically. You can delete them yourself at any time with the delete button in the “Your files” list.

Is there a limit on the number of images?

There is no fixed limit on the number of images, but very large batches take longer to upload and convert.
