Remove EXIF Data and GPS from Photos

See what your photos reveal — where and when they were taken and with which camera — and remove all that metadata before you share them.

Remove Hidden Metadata from Your Photos

Photos from phones and cameras contain EXIF data: the exact GPS location where the photo was taken, the date and time, the camera or phone model and the software used. When you post or send the original file, anyone can read it. Upload JPG, PNG or WebP images and this tool shows what is stored in them and removes it.

The metadata is cut out of the file directly, without recompressing the image, so the picture stays exactly the same and the colour profile is kept. Everything runs in your browser — your photos are never uploaded.

Why Use This EXIF Remover?

  • Removes GPS location, camera, date and software data
  • Shows what was found, with the location on a map
  • No recompression — the image is unchanged
  • Works in your browser — no upload, no sign-up

How to Remove EXIF Data from a Photo

  1. Select or drag your photos into the upload area
  2. Check the metadata found in each photo
  3. Click "Remove metadata" and download the clean files

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this EXIF remover free?

Yes, it is completely free, with no limits on the number of photos.

What exactly is removed?

All EXIF data (including GPS coordinates, date, camera model and serial numbers), XMP and IPTC metadata, comments and embedded thumbnails. For PNG, text chunks and timestamps are removed. The colour profile is kept so colours look the same.

Does removing metadata change the image?

No. The image data is not touched or recompressed, so the picture is identical, and the file only becomes smaller. The only exception is a photo stored sideways with an EXIF rotation flag: it is turned upright first so it still displays correctly without the flag.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser; your photos and their metadata never leave your device.
